Site Doctor: HSBC Configuration

The HSBC gateway requires that your website has its own secure connection, so make sure that the secure URL is set-up correctly during the install.

Using the ClickCartPro or EuropaCart management interface, access the Store | Commerce | Payment Gateways function. Choose to Update the ‘HSBC – Payment Form’ method. Adjust the settings as follows:

1. Change Active Status to True.

2. Change Gateway User/Store ID to your HSBC Store ID

3. Change Transaction Key/Password to your HSBC Order Hash Key (Provided by HSBC by Fax or Letter).

4. Click submit.

This enables the HSBC gateway in test mode. Carry out a few test transactions using HSBC and your store software. Once you’ve placed a few test transactions, contact HSBC with a ‘Live Request’ either via email using secure-epayments@hsbc.com or via telephone using 0845 702 3344 (Option 4). Provide your HSBC Store ID and the URL for your ClickCartPro or EuropaCart software. HSBC will then set your account up as a live account and contact you informing you this was done.

Once HSBC has made your account live, using the ClickCartPro or EuropaCart management interface, access the Store | Commerce | Payment Gateways function. Choose to Update the ‘HSBC – Payment Form’ method. Edit the ‘Form Display Code’ field. Look for:


$tmp[3] = 'T';

And change this line to:


$tmp[3] = 'P';

Finish by clicking the submit button and executing a live transaction to make sure everything works.
